“We enrich the lives around us by what we think, what we say, and who we are. I write to point the way to hope, joy, and gratitude.”

Meet The Author

Karin Friedrich Donaldson immigrated to the United States from Germany with her family at the end of World War II. She’ll never forget the day American Army trucks rolled into her village and GIs tossed Hershey’s bars to the children running after the jeeps. She can taste that chocolate bar to this day.

Karin makes her home in La Jolla, California, and sits on the advisory boards of The Salvation Army and Big Table in San Diego. For twelve years, she served on the pastoral staff of La Jolla Presbyterian Church. Upon retirement, Karin joined The Salvation Army as a volunteer, serving as President of the Women’s Auxiliary and Chairman of the Metropolitan Advisory Board. Her careers include stockbroker, speed reading instructor, pastor, and grief counselor. Best of all, she loves being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Karin and her husband John enjoy sailing and are benefactors to numerous non-profit organizations.
